Canon Inc. (????????) is a Japanese multinational corporation that specialises in the manufacture of imaging and optical products, including cameras, camcorders, photocopiers, steppers and computer printers. Its headquarters are located in ?ta, Tokyo, Japan.
The name Canon began in 1947 after the company Kwanon changed its name. In 1934 Kwanon began with a prototype for Japan’s first-ever 35 mm camera with a focal plane shutter. It was named ‘Kwanon’ by Goro Yoshida after the Buddhist bodhisattva Guan Yin, known in Japanese as Kannon.
Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory is the predecessor of Canon Inc. and was founded in Tokyo in 1937 by Takeshi Mitarai, Goro Yoshida, Saburo Uchida and Takeo Maeda.
Today, the company produces digital compact and SLR cameras, photographic lenses, video camcorders, printers and analog and digital copiers for the office, including its line of imageRUNNER and imagePRESS digital multifunctional devices.

#Barbados hosts Tradewinds 2012, Social Media part of Initiative #southcom #coastguard #narcotics

This is the 28th Anniversary of a regional training drive to encompass multiple aspects of ensuring the security and stability of the Caribbean. Barbados is the host country this year, while the drill itself runs from 15th to 24th June, and almost 400 personnel from Canada, Dominican Republic, the United States as well as members of CARICOM (Caribbean Community) will be in Barbados for the initiative.
